Because in my opinion true “street art” is done illegally. Just like true graffiti is done illegally. If you put a bunch of graffiti artists work in a gallery, is it still graffiti? Ehhhhh, not really. Lately, most legally commissioned murals are usually just part of the gentrification of a neighborhood, used to lure in more wealthy, young people.

So you hate all legal walls?

No. I definitely didn’t say that. They just aren’t “street art.” I have seen lots of great legal walls and lots of terrible/cliche/played out legal walls.. None of them were what I would consider to be “street art.”
